Deron Wade: Music

Sometimes

(Deron Wade)
Being a songwriter, I'm always asked, "Are all those songs personal? Did that really happen to you?"" For the most part, I try to not write about myself, but for "Sometimes" I did venture into personal territory. I wrote this song for my girlfriend @ College. I ended up transferring schools and we lost touch. This was my way of saying goodbye. In the words of the song, "Sometimes you just have to let them go."
Sometimes

I remember walking down the street that night
We were holding hands underneath the streetlights
You were talking, laughing about those days
When we were younger, life never seemed to fade
Away

Went back to your room and played a card game
We settled into memories on display
We lied together two hearts being torn
And we stayed that way til the break of morn

And I knew that you’d have to fade away
And I knew this would be our final day
And I wanted to let you know

But sometimes you just have to let them go

From my rusty car I turned on the radio
You watched as I sadly pulled away
I saw you standing there by your window
Than you disappeared and I had to fade away

So I listened to the voice of reason
And I sacrificed everything I had
I had the answers on my front doorstep
But sometimes you just don’t know
And sometimes you just have to let them go

And I, don’t know why, see you sigh, see you cry
And I, can’t hold on, to the tears, of yesterday
And I, I’m sorry I left you, I’m sorry I can’t stay, I’m sorry I just went away
And I, I’m sorry I’ll hold on, I’m sorry I’ll say goodbye to yesterday

Once again, you know I will, you know I will
It just seems so far away
