Me and my Friends
- Deron Wade
- Yep. This is my Myspace Site -- along with a CD to Purchase and a boatload of songs to download for only 94 cents! Now check out my other friends and listen to some of their music -- I've written about each one -- and that says a lot right there. :)
- Jason Farnham
- Jason's Music is eclectic, diverse, upbeat and singuarly divine. With a mix of electronic beats/keyboard playing pizzazz along with vocals that just add to an already well-rounded composition -- keep a look out for Jason to make a serious splash in the LA scene very soon. But don't just take my word for it, go to his site and check out his new album, "Barriers." You'll see what I'm talking about. "Barriers" was one of the most highy recieved CD's at the DIY Convention in LA, reviewed by a top panel of judges who work in the Film/TV/Record Label Industry. Way to go Jason!
He also has a show this Saturday -- March 10th - which I encourage you all to go see. I've heard for the price of the ticket he'll give you a T-Shirt or a CD Free of charge. Coming from another fellow Musician who knows how much TIME goes into making a CD that's a real bargain. He will be performing @ the Keyclub -- more info at his site. www.jasonfarnham.com

- Swivel
- Eddie and Tai mke up Swivel and that's all they need. These guys are great and I'll be playing again with them real soon @ Yonnis on Hollywood Blvd and Wilcox. Til than here's the scoop on this terrific duo team.
Swivel has music that is completely different from what you're used to hearing -- while at the same time, they throw in just enough for you to turn your head and look up -- in other words, like any good predator -- they stalk their prey and than WHAM! You too, are victim of becoming a fan of Swivel.
With songs like, "Robotic Sex" and their cover of one of Madonnas old songs "Sorry" -- (In my opinion I like their version better) Swivel is a new breed -- testing the limits -- moving away from the average pop-rock of today -- mixing up the sounds, stirring up our minds -- and throwing us a concoction of music that goes down like a nice red wine mixed with the salty aftertaste of a Margarita. In other words -- with these guys -- To quote my good friend Forrest Gump, "You never know what you're going to get."
One thing is for sure, with a new album due out any day -- and a heap of songs to their name. Swivel just might make you turn your head -- and as soon as you do -- you won't look back.

- Tim Cluff
- Rarely does there come along an artist that challenges you to think in contradictions -- Shouting out perspectives and questions that demand answers, while at the same time, melting into the shadows like an unsolved mystery.
Tim Cluff is that artist. With an intense lyrical structure mixed with melodies and harmonies along the lines of Tom Waits/Neil Young and Billy Joel -- This is an artist that opens your eyes to new ideas --
If you're looking for the run-of-the-mill song you find on the radio these days --- stop right here -- Tim Cluff isn't that -- but if you're looking for something refreshing, exhiliratiing blended with a philosophical twist -- I think Tim might just be your man. Either way -- his lyrics will pound you into the ground -- and re-shape you into something else entirely.
I recommend his song, "Blow Me Away" a very nice piano ballad w/ guitar and heartfelt vocals -- Tim Cluff is his own entity -- and it won't be long before this Indpendent Artist comes knocking on your door --- and trust me -- you'll want to be there when he does --- mainly because this guy has something to say.

Cool sites for the Indie Artist
- Ijamr
- Great Free Site for Independent Musicians to get their music heard.
I-Jamr is a site built completely for the Musician -- Soon it will have an online magazine available -- Free -- as well as other Media Portals -- ranging from Real Interviews with Bands -- to reporters/musicians discussing "What's happening in the Industry Now?" Definitely check this site out. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
- Indie BIble
- David Wimble has put together some great information for the Independent Musician trying to find a loop hole to grasp in a business that lacks any foot-holds whatsoever. In the Indie Bible you'll find all the necessary info you need to survive as an artist.
Best part about it is the articles in the back -- READ THEM -- They are worth your time. From what it means to be a podcaster -- to what it takes to have your CD reviewed while others are thrown away -- If you want to know the business -- The Indie Bible is a great starting point. Nothing but solid info -- but do your research -- and don't just e-mail everyone you see -- use it as a tool and a directory -- and be business savvy. The players in the Industry is a small-knit community -- choose your battles wisely -- I would suggest not battling at all --
But than again -- I don't have much Irish Blood in me -- Those that are fighters should stick to their roots -- and grab me a beer while you're at it.
- Garageband
- What I love about Garageband -- is the reviews. While you may not get great reviews, you have the opportunity to listen to others' music and give them some great feedback, learning how to further your songwriting skills the entire time.
As for my music listeners, it's a great site to find artists and share your voice. They are always looking for more people to review songs --
so if you are a music junkie -- get over there and show them what you got.
